For an eligible uncorrupted item, there are three practical choices for both socket count and links: random currency rolls, a fixed-cost bench recipe, or the appropriate Omen. Price all three in your league before committing. Exiled Bench can automate the random rolls; it does not improve their odds.

Choose the final base first

Check the base, item level and modifiers your build needs before paying for sockets. A cheaper six-link is only a bargain if you can use it. The base-selection guide explains how to check tier access and influence requirements.

For an Awakener craft, spend on the second, retained item, not the donor destroyed by the first click. For recombination, inspect the output before buying its final links. Complete socket-count changes before linking or colouring: removing sockets can undo work you already paid for.

Step 1: get six sockets

These choices require a base that can hold six sockets. Ordinary Jeweller rolls also have an item-level restriction; do not assume every low-level body armour can roll six. Check eligibility before setting a target.

Step 2: choose how to six-link

An item must already have six sockets for the Fusing routes below.

Have the correct Omen in your inventory before applying its currency, and check that it is consumed. An Omen of Connections links the sockets you already have; it does not add the missing sixth socket. Omen of Connections item text

The current bench data lists Arid Lake Map for six sockets and Grotto Map for six links. Check the locked recipe's hint in your own bench because Atlas locations can change. A five-link costs 150 Fusings and can serve as an interim upgrade. Bench costs and unlocks

Which route is cheapest?

Convert the Omen price and the bench's currency cost into the same unit using your league's exchange rates. Also compare buying the same base already linked. No method is always the cheapest across leagues.

Quality improves Fusing outcomes, so add the quality you intend to use before rolling. Manual rolling can finish below the bench cost, but a bad streak can go beyond it. The bench's 1,500 price is neither a guarantee for manual rolls nor a verified current average. Choose a fixed-cost route if a failed gamble would stop your build from progressing. Step 3: plan colours under the 3.29 rules

Any gem now fits any socket. A red, green or blue gem in a matching socket gains +10% quality. That bonus can matter to your build, but you can use the six-link before perfecting all its colours.

Chromatics guarantee one coloured socket; the others can be white. Higher item level and item quality improve the chance of coloured sockets, while attribute requirements still bias which colours appear. New sockets added with Jewellers or the bench are white. The old red/green/blue bench recipes are gone. Their replacements guarantee a count of coloured sockets, not your chosen combination:

Omen of Trichromatism, formerly Omen of Blanching, makes a Chromatic guarantee at least one red, one green and one blue socket. It is useful for an RGB requirement, not a guarantee of six matching colours. GGG's Omen change

Before chasing a demanding combination, use Siveran's Vorici calculator:

1. Select Curse of the Allflame, not Mirage (Legacy).
2. Enter the socket count, item level, quality and attribute requirements of your actual item.
3. Enter the colours you want and compare the estimated cost and success chance for the available methods.

The calculator has a current socket model, including white sockets. Its averages are estimates, not a spending cap. Check the value of extra gem quality before funding a six-colour target.

Exiled Bench settings for random rolls

Use the app's setup guide first. For a single item, these are separate runs:

Colour values are minimums; zero ignores that colour. For example, R: 2, G: 1, B: 1, W: 0 on a six-socket item accepts at least two red, one green and one blue socket, regardless of the remaining two. Read the target preview before arming. An all-white result is not a valid Chromatic goal.

Set a Safety limit for each run. For held currency, press Arm, right-click the correct stack without pressing Shift, hover the item and press your start key. The app holds Shift for you. Keep watching the run and use your pause or stop key when needed.

Item Linking also offers From my stash: calibrate the currency tab, leave it open, keep the cursor empty, and follow the page's setup prompts. Sockets → Both performs a socket-count pass and then a colour pass over the Inventory; it needs currency and inventory calibration. It does not add the linking step.

The app automates currency application and stopping. You choose and perform bench crafts or Omen use yourself. Review the automation risks before using it.

What about corrupted items?

Ordinary Jewellers, Fusings and Chromatics cannot be applied directly to corrupted equipment. Tainted currency is a separate route. Socket/link bench crafts can also work, with an additional Vaal Orb per unit of their normal currency cost: a corrupted six-link bench craft costs 1,500 Fusings plus 1,500 Vaal Orbs.
