PoE 2 Precursor Tablets in 0.5.5: Every Mod by Type and How to Roll Them
Every Path of Exile 2 Precursor tablet mod, by tablet type: the 24 that roll on every tablet and each type's own. How a tablet reads, the orb route to two wanted mods together, and a stash-search string.
In this guide
- Goal
- A tablet with two or three of the mods you farm for, on the type that matches your league mechanic
- Base
- A normal or magic tablet of the type you run
- Method
- Transmutation and Augmentation; Regal and Exalted if a wanted mod landed, otherwise Alchemy, then Chaos
- In the app
- Wanted mods from the type's own pool, how many must sit together, the next orb for each tablet
- Checkpoint
- Read the suffixes: every type-specific mod is a suffix
- Guide coverage
- Precursor tablets only; waystones roll from their own pool
A Precursor tablet adds a league mechanic to your maps and modifiers on top of it. The game's own line on every tablet: "Can be used in a personal Map Device to add modifiers to a Map." The type decides the mechanic, and each type rolls its own mods. Crafting one is getting two or three mods you want onto the right type.
Everything below is from the game's data export for patch 0.5.5 and checked against real tablets copied in game.
How a tablet reads
A tablet's implicit names its mechanic, and it drops with 10 uses. Here is a rare one, copied in game:
Breach Tablet
--------
Item Level: 80
--------
Adds an Otherworldy Breach to a Map
10 uses remaining
--------
9% increased Rarity of Items found in Map
6% increased Pack Size in Map
Map contains an additional Strongbox
Map has 72% increased chance to contain Azmeri Spirits
--------
Can be used in a personal Map Device to add modifiers to a Map.
A rare tablet holds up to two prefixes and two suffixes, four mods in all; a magic one holds a prefix and a suffix. In the example, the rarity and pack size lines are the prefixes, the strongbox and Azmeri Spirit lines the suffixes.
The eight types

| Tablet | What its implicit adds | Its own mods | All mods it rolls |
|---|---|---|---|
| Abyss Tablet | Adds Abysses to a Map | 9 | 33 |
| Breach Tablet | Adds an Otherworldy Breach to a Map | 7 | 31 |
| Delirium Tablet | Adds a Mirror of Delirium to a Map | 9 | 33 |
| Expedition Tablet | Adds a Kalguuran Expedition to a Map | 13 | 37 |
| Irradiated Tablet | Adds Irradiated to a Map | 0 | 24 |
| Overseer Tablet | Empowers the Map Boss of a Map | 8 | 32 |
| Ritual Tablet | Adds Ritual Altars to a Map | 9 | 33 |
| Temple Tablet | Adds Vaal Beacons to a Map | 7 | 31 |
Two things in the data shape every craft:
- All 13 prefixes are the same on every type. Rarity, pack size, gold, experience, monster rarity and the rest can roll on any tablet. Only the suffixes differ.
- Every type-specific mod is a suffix. A Breach Tablet's Hiveblood or Wombgift mod competes for the two suffix slots with the 11 shared suffixes. Irradiated Tablets have no mods of their own at all.
Every tablet mod has the same weight in the game's data, so on a given type no mod is rarer than another; a type with a bigger pool spreads the same chances over more mods.

The orb route
The route we use, and the one Exiled Bench follows. The goal is two or three wanted mods together: a tablet with two good mods and something usable is already worth a lot.
- Orb of Transmutation on a normal tablet: it becomes magic with one mod.
- Orb of Augmentation adds the second mod.
- If either mod is one you want, Regal Orb to make it rare, then Exalted Orbs up to four mods.
- If neither is, Orb of Alchemy instead: in PoE 2 it turns a normal or magic item into a rare with four mods.
- From a full rare, Chaos Orb until enough wanted mods sit together.
Because every type-specific mod is a suffix, a tablet aimed at its league mechanic is mostly a suffix craft: pick the two suffixes you want and accept any useful prefix.
Find the good ones with stash search
PoE 2's stash search reads regex and takes 250 characters. This string keeps Breach Tablets that have the Hiveblood mod and no extra random map modifiers:
"breach" "hivebl" "!random"
You don't have to write these by hand. The free tablet regex builder builds them in English or Russian: tablet types, the mods to want or avoid from those types' pools, rarity and uses left. An unidentified tablet shows no mods, so identify tablets before you search for mods.
Doing it in Exiled Bench
The app's PoE 2 Tablets page shows only the chosen type's pool, takes the wanted mods and how many of them must sit together, and runs the orbs by the route above until a tablet passes. See Exiled Bench for PoE 2.
Tips
- Pick the type for the mechanic, the prefixes for the loot. The prefixes are the same everywhere; the suffixes are what makes a Breach Tablet a Breach Tablet.
- Two wanted suffixes is the hard part. A prefix you want is easy to keep; plan the craft around the suffixes.
- Keep a saved filter per type in the regex builder, so a full tab of mixed tablets sorts in one paste.
For waystones, see the PoE 2 waystone crafting guide.
