Essence Spamming: Guaranteed Mods, Automated

Essences are a crafting favourite for one reason: they guarantee a mod. Every time you apply an essence, the item comes out with that essence's guaranteed modifier — the rest of the item rerolls around it. That guarantee is exactly what makes essence spamming so well suited to automation.

Why essences are great to automate

With Alterations you're fishing in a huge pool. With essences, one affix is locked every single roll, so you're only rolling for the other mods to line up. That's a smaller target and a very clean stop condition: "keep this guaranteed mod, wait until the accompanying mods are also good."

Typical use cases:

• A guaranteed high-tier resistance or attribute while you fish for the rest of a rare.
• Deafening (highest-tier) essences for the strongest guaranteed roll.
• Essence + good base to skip the "find the hard mod" step entirely.

The workflow

1. White or already-magic/rare base (essences work on the item's rarity rules — most are used on white bases to make a rare).
2. Apply the essence repeatedly; the guaranteed mod is always present, the others reroll.
3. Stop when the rerolled mods meet your bar (life, resists, a second useful mod, etc.).

Automating it with Exiled Bench

Essence spamming maps perfectly onto the target-until-match engine:

1. Calibrate your item slot.
2. Set your target mods — the accompanying mods you want alongside the guaranteed one, with tiers if it matters. Add forbidden mods to reject bricks.
3. Choose the essence method and press start. The app applies, reads, and stops when the item clears your conditions.

Tips

• Deafening tier if you want the strongest guaranteed roll; lower tiers are cheaper for volume.
• Combine with a good base — an essence on an ilvl-appropriate influenced base can set up a strong rare in far fewer rolls than raw alteration spam.
• Batch it. A stash tab of white bases + a stack of essences + inventory mode = a hands-free rare factory.
