Harvest Crafting Explained: Targeted Reforges

Harvest crafting is prized because it's some of the most targeted crafting in Path of Exile. Instead of rerolling blind, many Harvest crafts let you reforge an item while guaranteeing a mod of a chosen type — life, a specific element, defences, and so on. Used well, it turns a near-miss item into a finished one.

What Harvest crafts do

The exact lineup shifts between leagues, but the staples are reforge crafts that reroll an item's mods while keeping/guaranteeing a category:

• Reforge keeping a prefix/suffix — lock the good half, reroll the rest.
• Reforge with a guaranteed [element] mod — force at least one fire/cold/lightning/chaos mod.
• Reforge with more common/rare bias — nudge the tiers.

Because a category is guaranteed each attempt, you're fishing a much smaller pool than a blind chaos reroll — which is exactly what makes it worth repeating until the rest of the item lines up.

The workflow

1. Get the item to the stage where one or two mods are already good.
2. Pick the Harvest reforge that keeps what's good (or guarantees the type you still need).
3. Reforge, check the result, repeat until the item is done.

That "reforge → check → repeat" loop is the automatable part.

Automating Harvest with Exiled Bench

Harvest mode handles both single crafts and batches:

• Single: it clicks the Harvest craft button, reads the result, and repeats until your target mods are present — with the same tier-exact targeting as the rolling modes.
• Batch inventory: for a tab of items it pre-checks each one, Ctrl+clicks it into the bench, runs the reforge loop until it matches, then moves the finished item back — safely returning the item if you pause.

Tips

• Anchor, then reforge. Get one strong mod first, then use "reforge keeping" so you're only fishing the rest.
• Combine methods. Harvest pairs well after an essence or fossil start that guarantees your anchor mod.
• Batch it. A tab of almost-finished items + Harvest batch mode = a lot of finished gear with zero manual clicking.
