PoE Flask Crafting in 3.29: Every Mod's Best Tier and How to Roll It
Flasks only roll magic, so a perfect one is Alterations and Augmentations away. Every flask mod's best tier and the item level it needs, a stash search to stop on, and the app's Flasks page.
In this guide
- Goal
- A magic flask with the prefix and suffix your build wants, both at their best tier
- Base
- The flask you use, item level 85 for every utility tier, 84 for life and mana
- Method
- Transmutation, then Alteration and Augmentation
- In the app
- The Flasks page: prefix targets, a second list of suffixes, Stop when One of each
- Checkpoint
- Read the item level before you start: it caps the tiers the flask can roll
- Guide coverage
- Magic flask mods and enchants; unique flasks and tinctures are not covered
A flask is always magic: one prefix, one suffix, and a Regal Orb won't take. That makes it the one item you can finish completely with the cheapest orbs: a Transmutation to make it magic, then Alterations and Augmentations until both sides are right. What takes knowing is which tier you're after and which item level it needs. Every table below is the game's own data for 3.29.
Item level decides the top tiers
A tier rolls only on a flask whose item level is at least the tier's level. Lower tiers still roll on a high-level flask; the item level only caps the best one.
- Utility flasks: the best tiers need item level 72 to 85. of the Cheetah (movement speed) needs 85; Experimenter's, Rationed, of the Armadillo, of the Impala and of the Owl need 84.
- Life and mana flasks: of Restraint needs 84; the other best tiers need 76 to 83, apart from two mods with a single tier (below).
Copy the flask with Ctrl+C and read its Item Level line before you spend anything. A flask that can't reach the tier you want will never stop.

| Best tier | What it rolls | Item level | Tiers |
|---|---|---|---|
| Surgeon's | (31-35)% chance to gain a Flask Charge when you deal a Critical Strike | 80 | 5 |
| Alchemist's | (27-23)% reduced Duration 25% increased effect | 80 | 3 |
| Flagellant's | Gain 3 Charges when you are Hit by an Enemy | 80 | 3 |
| Chemist's | (28-26)% reduced Charges per use | 82 | 5 |
| Ample | +(32-35) to Maximum Charges | 82 | 5 |
| Perpetual | (46-50)% increased Charge Recovery | 83 | 5 |
| Experimenter's | (36-40)% increased Duration | 84 | 5 |
| Rationed | (61-66)% increased Charge Recovery 25% reduced effect | 84 | 5 |
- Alchemist's gives 25% increased effect at every tier. Its lower tiers, Abecedarian's (item level 20) and Dabbler's (50), only cost more duration: 33–38% and 28–32% reduced, against Alchemist's 23–27%.
- Rationed is the opposite trade: much faster charge recovery for 25% reduced effect.
- Chemist's, Ample, Perpetual, Surgeon's and Flagellant's are about charges: fewer per use, more held, more gained, gained on critical strikes or when hit.

- The Iron Flask (Ward) rolls the four Ward suffixes (of Runegleaming up to of Runeblazing, 28–30% increased Ward at item level 78) instead of the Armour and Evasion ones.
Life and mana flask mods
Life and mana flasks share most of their mods. of Restraint reads "Full Life" on a life flask and "Full Mana" on a mana flask.

Seething (Instant Recovery, 66% reduced Amount Recovered) and of Warding (Removes Curses on use) have a single tier, from item level 7 and 18, so any flask can roll them.
How to roll one by hand
- Make the flask magic with an Orb of Transmutation.
- Use Alterations until the prefix or the suffix you want appears.
- If it came alone, the other side is empty: an Augmentation adds one. Keep the flask if the new affix is one you want too; if not, go back to step 2.
- Stop when both sides are right, or when one side is right and the other doesn't matter to you.
Hovering the flask after every click gets tiring. The free magic item regex writes a stash search that lights the flask up when it hits. For a Quicksilver Flask with Alchemist's or Experimenter's and of the Cheetah, with Prefix and suffix chosen, it gives:
"^alche|^exper" "eetah$"
It matches the flask's name, not its mod text: ^alche is a name that starts with Alchemist's, eetah$ one
that ends with of the Cheetah. That pins the exact tier in a few letters. Paste it into the search box of the
stash tab that holds the flask. Its option Also stop while a side you picked from is still empty lights the
flask up while one side is open too, so you know when to Augment.
Rolling it with Exiled Bench
The app's Flasks page rolls the Alterations for you:
- Open Flasks. Under Target mods, press Mod DB and add the prefix tiers you'd keep. A tier counts or better: picking Brewer's also accepts Chemist's.
- Set Stop when to One of each, and add the suffix tiers to the second list: the run stops when one of each is on the flask.
- Set Augment to Until a hit: the app adds an Augmentation while the flask has an open side that could still complete the hit.
- Would this stop? checks a flask you copied against your setup before you spend anything.
- Set a Safety limit, press Arm, and press your start key.
See the setup guide for calibration and keys, and what the app does in PoE 1.
Enchant it last
Two orbs add an enchantment to a utility flask. They don't touch its prefix or suffix:
- Enkindling Orb: one of five, each with "Gains no Charges during Effect": 60–70% increased effect (the most common, weight 250 of 650), or more duration, faster charge recovery, fewer charges per use, or more maximum charges. It replaces any enchantment the flask already has.
- Instilling Orb: makes the flask use itself when something happens, such as "Used when you Block" or "Used when you become Frozen". Fifteen of these can roll on a flask.
The crafting bench also offers "Used when …" enchantments, paid in Instilling Orbs and Glassblower's Baubles, if you'd rather pick one than roll it.
