Guide coverage
The +2 arrows preparation stage, not a finished endgame bow

Extra arrows are among the most wanted bow suffixes: each additional arrow is another projectile for most bow skills. Bow Attacks fire 2 additional Arrows is the top tier. A magic bow with it is useful on its own, and players who craft bows buy it as a starting base. Rolling it is plain Alteration spam, which is exactly the kind of repetitive work worth automating.

Where the mod rolls

The additional-arrows suffix has two tiers on bows:

| Suffix | Line | Item level | | --- | --- | --- | | of Splintering | Bow Attacks fire an additional Arrow | 70 | | of Many | Bow Attacks fire 2 additional Arrows | 86 |

  • Both tiers are the same modifier family, so a bow carries one or the other, never both.
  • The +2 tier has a tenth of the +1 tier's spawn weight (100 against 1,000), which is why it costs far more Alterations.
  • Below item level 86, of Many cannot roll at all. Check the item level before spending a single orb on a base.
  • A quiver's own additional-arrow suffix is a separate item, so it adds to the bow's arrows.

Choose the base

  • Spine Bow (drop level 64): 38–115 physical damage, 6.5% critical strike chance, 1.40 attacks per second and no implicit, so every line on it is yours. It is a common choice for physical bow builds.
  • Imperial Bow carries (20–24)% increased Elemental Damage with Attack Skills, a better fit for elemental bow builds.
  • Other bases trade damage for an implicit: Maraketh Bow (movement speed), Harbinger Bow (critical strike chance), Assassin Bow (critical strike multiplier). Pick for your build, or for the buyer you have in mind.

Item level 86 bases are easiest to buy. Rolling one costs far more than the base itself, so don't settle for a lower level to save a few chaos. See choosing crafting bases for how item level and implicits interact.

Roll the suffix

  1. Start from a magic item-level 86 bow. Use a Transmutation on a normal one.
  2. Alteration until of Many appears.
  3. If the suffix lands alone, the prefix is still open. An Augmentation adds one: a physical prefix makes a better sale, but any prefix closes the slot.
  4. Stop and decide what the bow is for (below).

Craft of Exile's calculator puts the average for the +2 tier on an item-level 86 bow at roughly 780 Alterations without Augments, or about 590 Alterations and 140 Augmentations with them. That's an average from the game's weights, not a promise. Real runs land well above and below it, so set a limit you can afford to lose before you start.

What to do with a hit

  • Sell it as a base. Magic +2 arrow bows sell to bow crafters. Check current trade listings for your exact base and prefix first; we don't quote prices because they move every league.
  • Imprint it. Before you Regal, an imprint from the Bestiary lets you return to this magic state if the Regal or later Exalts go wrong. Fractured items can't be imprinted. See imprints and elevated mods.
  • Finish it yourself. Regal, then Exalt or bench-craft the rest, or lock the suffixes and work on the prefixes with metacrafting.

Automating it with Exiled Bench

On the app's Items page:

  1. Choose Bow, Magic and Alt + Aug. Use Single for one bow, or Stash for a batch, with item size 2 × 4.
  2. In Target mods → Mod DB, filter to Bow and add Bow Attacks fire 2 additional Arrows, tier 1. Tiers are ranked for that item type. Picking tier 2 would also stop on +1 arrow, because the app stops on the chosen tier or better.
  3. Set Item level to 86 or higher. The filter checks the level only, so look at the base yourself.
  4. Augment → Until a hit keeps a lone +2 suffix with its prefix open. Always fills the prefix too.
  5. This craft shows the average Alterations and Augmentations for your target and item level, and their worth at current prices. Set a Safety limit, Arm, and press your start key.

For an automatic rare stage, choose From my stash and put a different acceptable mod, such as a physical damage prefix, in After the target → Bonus mod → Step 2. Imprint first if the magic +2 bow is worth protecting: the app can't imprint for you. The multi-currency setup explains calibration, caps and destructive resets.

Tips

  • Batch the bases. One bow can take hundreds of Alterations. A stash tab of item-level 86 bows lets the app keep rolling without you swapping items.
  • Don't reset a keeper. Move each hit out of the batch before the next run, so a later reset can't roll it away.
  • Want +1 arrow instead? Item level 70 is enough, and the hit is about ten times more common. Set the target to tier 2.
